Nice! I grew up in Superior and love that area of the state. I agree with your recommendation to ride US60 between Superior and Miami. Nice road and great scenery. That looks like a great spot to moto camp (I've ridden past it many times and never gave it another thought). Kudos for mustering up to solo camp. I haven't gotten to that point yet. 😅

Nice video, thank you. During the video you mentioned that you do a lot of hiking. I'm planning a 2-3 week camping trip with some hiking involved and I am having some trouble getting things sorted out without having a huge amount of gear with me. From these 3 weeks I'll probably be hiking 5-6 days and in those days I'll be travelling 2-up (my girlfriend is joining the for part of the trip), so I'm having trouble figuring out how to pack, having camping gear for two, hiking backpacks for two (apart from all the riding gear) and still having everything secured in the motorcycle while hiking. Any tips? Is it even possible?

Im surprised that your bikes alternator output is only 35amps , my BMWs I've had R1050GS a K 1100LT and a K1100RS all had 70amp alternators, my current bike a 2002 Triumph Trophy 1200 has a 40amp and no ABS or fuil injection .

Main thing is use what you have and get started going it. Your perfect list won’t exist until you’ve been doing it a long time and even then, perfection is unattainable. There will always be improved things to make you doubt or want to change your setup. Just don’t let the desire to have the initial, perfect setup keep you from it.

I have never done this before. My BMW mechanic advised me to make sure that when you "auger" out the hole with the tool that you follow the same direction as the screw/nail went in. Even if it went in at a weird angle. If you go in at a different angle it could cause the tire to fail again, beyond repair. Thanks for the video!

I too do long distance adventure riding and have on past rides used SI foam mattress that were much larger. Heading south to Argentina end of the year and sought a smaller packed pad. I came to the same conclusions about this pad and purchased one. Completing the inflammation takes more than "a few breaths" and that's at sea level. I will be possible camping at 12K+ feet after a full day of riding. Every other SI I looked at came with a pump sack. I sent this feedback to S2S and they responded they would send me a pump sack. Something to consider both the asking and the level of customer service you get with S2S. Ride safe.

I would suggest as well that when you do have to spend the night in a hotel, as the need arises, select a joint that offers a free breakfast. Knocking that one meal off the hit list, and grabbing a bagel or a banana on the way out for later can soften the blow of the expense of the hotel room. I always locate the hotel laundry (not the coin-op, the pro version) and ask them if I can nab a towel, they always have loads of clean towels that are just shy of qualifying for putting back in the rooms, and I use the towel to wipe overnight moisture from the bike, clean bugs off the screen, et cetera. I have even borrowed a garden hose and washed road grime off the bike while getting ready for the ride away from the hotel, they seem to get a kick out of it.

Somewhere a timeshare rep howled when you shared the one trick those guys hate "Don't tell them not to buy the timeshare!!!" LOL. Excellent advice. I just picked up a 2024 GS Adventure (Triple Black) in mid-April, and I am looking forward to doing much more bike travelling.

Get a dishwashing sponge and soak it in dishwashing liquid and let it dry out then cut it into cubes put in a zip lock bag..each cube should last for a couple of washes

Just did overnight at Aztec Peak in Sierra Ancho Wilderness.. Take 288 North of E side Roosevelt Lake, then Right on FR 487 up to top at 7500'.. Nice tree covered Alpine meadow on right for camping about one mile below the top. Cheers!

Im 69 and planning a 2 week motorcycle camping journey from Colorado, Utah, down to Marble canyon and then I hope to stay at thcampground and then head north to Idaho Falls, Jackson and back to Denver. Going solo and never would have done it without seeing how well you manage. I'm all scheduled for July. Hope it's not too hot this time of year. Don't really like cold.

I am an Amateur Radio operator and plan on announcing my ride via a few websites so I can have people besides my wife following my progress.

I ride in so. Florida I have a Carmel back that I fill at gas station soda fountains the trick is get one with a fold over top so it fills EZ and drys ez and cleans ez I have never been charged to fill with ice and water also cools my back while riding

I did replace all my light bulbs to led and added accessories driving & fog led lights and flasher light for the brakes & added brake light to top case and tape on light for tail light all them are led lights and also put in a USB charges outlet voltmeter gauge tell me how power I using for my 2007 Piaggio mp3 250ie!!

If you don’t have a flat bracket and just a tubular rack to mount to, you can also use rubber insulated clamps to mount the box to the frame with no permanent mod to the bike-rack. Mine hasn’t moved and works great.
